This is originally for the undergraduate students at Dental School.
This lecture reviews the relationship of periodontal medicine and whole body science, especially infectious disease, chronic inflammation and immune disease. We also teach the concept of periodontal medicine as individual medicine.

一般目標(GIO): 種々の疾患は個体毎に異なる病態を持つことを診断して治療・管理を行う，すなわち，，“個体医療”の概念に基づいて治療を実践するために，口腔科学と全身の科学との関係 を，主に感染症，慢性炎症，および免疫疾患の観点から捉え，「口腔内科」の発展的・学際 的な考え方を理解する。

The following is within the scope of general education;
General Instructional Objective (GIO):
We ask for students to acquire clinical knowledge of periodontal medicine. Students need to learn and understand the assosciation of periodontal medicine and systemic diseases on the interdisciplinary basis of pathophysiology for infectious disease, chronic inflammation and immune disease.

1. COVID-19対策のため，非常勤講師による講義を含めて，オンラインでのライブ講義です。（なお，オンデマンド受講も可能）
2. 鹿田キャンパス時限の３-４限（11:00〜12:00, 12:50〜13:50）です。
3. 歯学部独自時間割のため，実際は4/7（木）から開始されます。第１回目〜第４回目は，オンデマンドで受講しましょう。

Attention:
1. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, live online lectures, including lectures by part-time lecturers will be provided. (On-demand lectures are also available.)

歯周病と全身疾患の関連性についての研究を行っている。特に歯周炎と糖尿病の相互関係を分子生物学的に解明すること、ならびに歯周炎が易感染性宿主に与える影響について解析している。歯科におけるこの分野の重要性は近年急速に高まっており、研究内容は講義に取り入れている。
担当教員は，歯科医師であり，Periodontal Medicineの研究と臨床実践を行っています。

We are conducting research on the relationship between periodontal disease and systemic disease. In particular, we analyze the interrelationship between periodontitis and diabetes in terms of molecular biology and analyze the effect of periodontitis on compromised hosts. The importance of this field in dentistry has been rapidly increasing in recent years, and the content of research is incorporated into the lecture.
Leachers are dentists, and all of them perform research and clinical practice of Periodontal Medicine.
