Within the general education range below
1. The relationship between oral science and general science is outlined mainly from the viewpoints of infectious diseases, chronic inflammation, and immunological diseases.
2. We teach the concept of "individual medical care" as well as understand the developmental and interdisciplinary thinking of "oral medicine department".

General Goal (GIO): In order to understand the pathology of oral infection and its effect on the whole body, biological basic knowledge on periodontal tissue and the morbid periodontal disease, the pathology of pulpal disease / apical periodontal disease and treatment based thereon Understand the law.

< Note > Due to the reduction of lectures as a result for anti-COVID-19 pandemic, short test will be scheduled for each lecture by using Okayama Unoversity moodle. Students' will be evaluated by both short tests and written reports. (You should consult Prof. Takashiba before in advance. Short test may be waived.)
(Former: Evaluate personal knowledge and thinking abilities as well as attitudes towards lessons by having them report on lecture contents and their impressions each time and submit it. Also, a written examination on the contents of the lecture (note that it is not simply asking for knowledge). 80% tests, 20% reports.)

歯周病と全身疾患の関連性についての研究を行っている。特に歯周炎と糖尿病の相互関係を分子生物学的に解明すること、ならびに歯周炎が易感染性宿主に与える影響について解析している。歯科におけるこの分野の重要性は近年急速に高まっており、研究内容は講義に取り入れている。
担当教員は，歯科医師であり，Periodontal Medicineの研究と臨床実践を行っています。

We are conducting research on the relationship between periodontal disease and systemic disease. In particular, we analyze the interrelationship between periodontitis and diabetes in terms of molecular biology and analyze the effect of periodontitis on compromised hosts. The importance of this field in dentistry has been rapidly increasing in recent years, and the content of research is incorporated into the lecture.
Leachers are dentists, and all of them perform research and clinical practice of Periodontal Medicine.

歯学部の専門教育の一部を教養科目として公開 したがって，講義は歯学部棟4階第一示説室で，歯学部生(約50人)と一緒に受講 講義は，教員にとって研究成果を学生諸君に分かり易く表現して知を継承するshow timeで す。 逆に，レポートは，学生諸君の考えを示すshow timeと考えて欲しい。 Discussionは大歓迎。 講義時間でも，e-mailでも，どうぞ。 健康こそ究極の欲望かな，と最近考えています。 みなさんも，少子高齢化の社会における 自分の欲望と役割を考えてみてください。

This subject is a specialized education subject that is treated as a liberal arts education subject or a specialized education subject of another faculty when taken by a student other than the undergraduate course. * For the lecture number when handling as a specialized education subject of another faculty, please check the syllabus of the faculty.
Part of the specialized education of the Faculty of Dentistry is open to the public as a liberal arts subject. Therefore, the lecture is taken in the 1st presentation room on the 4th floor of the Faculty of Dentistry with the students of the Faculty of Dentistry (about 50 people). It is a show time that expresses and inherits knowledge. On the contrary, think of the report as show time, which shows the students' thoughts. Discussions are welcome. Please use it during lecture time or by e-mail. Recently I think that health is the ultimate desire. Think about your desires and roles in an aging society with a declining birthrate.
The instructor is a dentist who conducts research and clinical practice on infection control.
